I am Irene Mary Tomkinson.  I am 60 years old and completely surprised about it.  I have no idea how I got so old so quickly.  I guess I just didn’t die. My inside self is continually being shocked when it gets a look at my outside self in the mirror.  I am amazed how my mother’s face keeps showing up in my mirror.

I have been married to David Tomkinson for 35 years.  We have two grown daughters, Lynn and Shawn Mary.  The girls are from my first marriage, which only lasted 3 years. David adopted the girls when we married and we have been a family ever since.  We have been a family going through all of the joys and stresses, the magic and pain, the celebrations and promises that all families live through.

Professionally I am a teacher and writer and an alternative body-centered therapist.  I have a counseling practice. David and I have owned and operated Pathways to Personal Growth our retreat and counseling center for 15 years.  Our work is based on the belief that we
